Replace your Reddit search RSS feeds
Search feeds were the most useful Reddit RSS trick: put reddit.com/search.rss?q=your+keyword&sort=new in your reader and every new post that mentions it shows up. They stop working on November 13, 2026 with the rest of Reddit RSS (Reddit’s announcement in r/modnews). Here’s how to keep them.
Move your search feeds to Subwise
- Log in to Reddit in your browser and install Subwise.
- Copy your search feed addresses from your reader (or export its OPML file) and paste them into Subwise’s welcome page or Settings → Import. A search inside one subreddit (
/r/x/search.rss?q=…&restrict_sr=on) stays inside that subreddit; a search withoutrestrict_srcovers all of Reddit, exactly as before. - Or add new ones: in the reader, click + → Search, type the words, and optionally a subreddit.
- Turn on notifications for the searches you don’t want to miss.
Search syntax that works
| You type | Finds |
|---|---|
"rss reader" | The exact phrase |
feedly OR inoreader | Either word |
homelab -crypto | homelab, but not posts that mention crypto |
subreddit:selfhosted backup | backup, only in r/selfhosted |
title:launch | Words in the title only |
On top of Reddit’s search, each Subwise feed can filter again on its own: words that must appear or must not, flairs, minimum score or comments.
Need more than search feeds?
Subwise Pro adds keyword alerts: one alert can watch several keywords across Reddit search and every feed you follow, then notify you, post to Discord or Slack, push to your phone through ntfy, or start an n8n or Zapier flow.
