Using ImprovMX with Gmail after “Send mail as” ends

Updated October 2026

ImprovMX forwards you@yourdomain.com to your Gmail, and its SMTP (or another SMTP service) let you reply through Gmail's Send mail as. Gmail removes Send mail as for non-Google addresses in January 2027 (Google Help), so the reply half needs a new path. ImprovMX forwarding itself keeps working.

Keep ImprovMX, change how you send

  1. Leave your ImprovMX aliases and MX records as they are.
  2. Choose a sending provider with an HTTP API: Resend, Brevo or SMTP2GO all have free plans. Verify your domain there.
  3. Install SendAs Bridge, connect the provider with an API key, and add your address.
  4. Reply in Gmail with your address selected in the From row.

SPF: one record only

ImprovMX asks for v=spf1 include:spf.improvmx.com ~all. If your sending provider needs an SPF include on the root domain (Mailgun, Mailjet), add it to that same record — two SPF records break SPF. SendAs Bridge's domain check shows the merged record to paste.
